Callie

Callie is a very special cat , a tiny calico with a beautiful multicolored coat. Callie had a congenital heart defect, and underwent heart surgery as a result. She had previously resided with a family that had a dog, and the dog was Callie’s best friend and constant companion. When the dog passed away, Callie became severely depressed, broken- hearted by the loss of her friend. She began to have problems using the litter box, and she still needs to have snuggle time every day or she becomes sad and withdrawn.

Callie requires heart medication twice a day and needs cardiac ultrasounds on a yearly basis. These costs are a significant expense to Feline Friends. Furthermore, Callie has deformed back legs that make walking more difficult than your “ordinary” cat, and that cause ingrown claws, which must be trimmed on a regular basis. Callie has some litterbox issues that Feline Friends needs to manage on a daily basis. She spends most of her day napping on the couch, and tolerates other cats. Feline Friends wants to make things as easy for her as possible so she has her meals “delivered” directly to her spot on the couch.

Callie will most likely always be a resident because of her various issues. Despite her issues, she is a wonderfully loving cat, who will cuddle under the covers with her human friends. She was surrendered by her family because they needed to move and could not take her with them. Her owners looked into many different options for her and found that Feline Friends was her best option.

Callie is in significant need of a sponsor and would be grateful for whatever help you can provide.
