Patrick evaded our traps for some time. By the time we took him to the vet, the wound had become infected, and the only option was to amputate his tail. If Patrick’s condition had gone untreated, he would have had an unlucky ending. We were fortunate to find him in time to rescue him.
After his trip to the vet, blood work came in, and we learned that Patrick was FIV and leukemia positive. This means that the chances of Patrick ever being adopted are slim. Feline Friends will do everything possible to keep Patrick healthy, including regular vet visits, appropriate medications, and a safe, happy environment. Vet bills are are expensive for cats like Patrick, but our dedication to him and all the other residents at the Feline Friends sanctuary is unwavering.
Patrick has become a friendly, loveable, happy soul… a huge change from the frightened stray who was left to fend for himself. This special kitty purrs non-stop and acts like he has hit the lottery when we give him snuggle time. The ideal situation for Patrick is adoption into a household where he will be the only cat, but we understand that not many people can make such a commitment. If he is not adopted, he will forever have a home at the sanctuary.
We can only help cats like Patrick with your help. Please consider sponsoring this affectionate fellow – he promises to send periodic updates and some photos!
